My business is based on clothing Boutique, and it is a small scale business in the beginning so, for my start-up business, the most basic employees required would be a customer attendant (me), a cashier, and two operators or fashion designer (who stitch the garments) who have a great skill of trending fashion and garments. Though I have also a background in the fashion field so I will also contribute my skills and knowledge to my business.
If I look at my business from the perspective of 3 years ahead, then of course I will hire more employees, in comparison to the beginning. If my business will grow and its demand will increase among people and my designer clothes are liked by people and become popular, then, of course, I will grow my business and for that, I will hire more employees.
If we talk about hiring an employee according to the growth of my business for 3 years, then I will hire 2 cashiers, 2 clothing attendants, and 4 more operators. The reason why I need more clothing attendants, when prospective customers walk in they need to be engaged in a cozy and friendly way. If that doesn’t happen the incidence of people walking out in no time becomes prevalent. Two more cashiers, because I do not want my customers to stand in line for too long for the payment. If there are more operators, then the demand of the customer will be fulfilled soon and they will get delivery on time.
(The number of employees may increase or decrease depending on the growth of the business.)
What recruitment activities are necessary for my business to access the skills needed that I cannot or do not want to provide for myself?
For my business, I need an extraordinary person who has a strong knowledge of fashion and styling, who has a good sense of visual merchandising so that when a customer comes inside the store, it will leave them attractive and appealing. Skilled operators are the most important person for my business because people will like their good stitching and work, then they will come back to my store and my business will move forward. A cashier who has previous knowledge of cash management.
How will I select employees or contractors to work for my business?
For staff selection, I will post the vacancy on social media, online and get recommendations from friends and local people whom I know. To connect with the contractors I will do research in the local market and on google and by talking to business owners of the same field.
How will I retain and motivate my employees?
To motivate and retain my employees, first of all, I will keep friendly behavior with my employees so that they can say anything to me without any fear. There will be a work environment where everyone will respect and help each other.
To stick my employees to my business, I will provide employee discounts in which they will get 15% discounts on in-store outlets, a good salary, a bonus time to time, medical benefits, and one month paid vacation after 2 years.
What training will I provide my employees?
- A good customer service is the most important part of my business, therefore employees will be given good training for that this.
- Cash management and till operating training.
- Visual merchandising and stocking training.
- Theft prevention and stealing training.
- Safety and security training.
- E-commerce
- Product handling and care
What compensation will I provide for what type of employees?
If any item gets damaged or destroyed by an employee while working, then the company will compensate it, but this mistake happens, again and again, then I will provide training again and try to find out where is the problem and try to figure it out. If it still does not improve then I will give them a warning, even after warning, if there is no improvement then eventually I will throw out them off the job.
What is the job description going to be for my employees?

Cashier: A cashier should be experienced in cash handling and till operating and have knowledge of retail business and be a good communicator.

How often will my employees receive a raise in their pay?
Employees’ pay raises depend on the growth of the business and the performances of the employees. Apart from this, I will provide the annual pay raise.
Will you need employees seasonally or from time to time or on an ongoing basis?
This is a new business, so I will hire permanent employees who work with me for a long time. Hiring short-term employee means loss, as this is a new business and when I will hire a new or seasonal employee, I will have to train them again and this will waste both my time and money and due to which the company will go into loss.
